PGM Tour

The PGM Tour is a series of weekly, 9-hole tournaments, designed for player development and to improve tournament playing skills. There is no entry fee for the PGM Tour however; participation is required as a part of the Player Development Program. Students who have not passed the PGA/Playing Ability Test must play in three PGM Tour events each semester (not including the major tournaments). Arlington Golf Shop gift certificates and a tournament point system are in place to reward the top players.

PGM Majors

The PGM Major Tournaments are entry fee events for individuals and teams usually played on weekends. The major tournaments consist of the following events:

  • The EKU PGM Club Championship consists of a men’s division and a women’s division.
  • The Colonel Cup is a 12-man team event modeled after the Ryder Cup format.
  • The Colonel Classic is a 2-man team event involving several different formats.
  • The Arlington Shoot Out is a 6-man team event that includes a skills contest held the Friday before the team matches begin.

PGA/PGM™ Student Association

The EKU PGM Student Association provides opportunities for leadership and skill development in specific areas of the golf industry. The Association will be managed by PGM students. It will also organize and conduct the PGM Tournament Program, social and community service events, student checkpoint review sessions, as well as assist and work with the Kentucky Golf Association and the Kentucky Section PGA in its First Tee Program.

The primary goal of the Association is student involvement. Students are encouraged to be active members of the PGM Student Association so they may play a role in the day-to-day activities of PGM.

PGA/PGM™ Student Advisory Council

The PGA/PGM™ Program will provide an opportunity for PGM students to serve on a Student Advisory Council. The purpose of the Advisory Council is to allow students to participate and be involved in the policy making process for the EKU PGM Program. Student representatives will meet monthly with the PGM Director.
